From Essential Question to Visual Design

This advanced course provides a detailed, practical methodology for developing essential questions. Academy students learn how to build a team with the appropriate expertise and skills, and guide the team through an iterative process of inquiry and investigation from the initial definition of a question through deployment to end-users.
Course Outcome
By the end of this course, Academy students will be ready to:
- Lead or participate in an Essential Question To Visual Design project as a member of a cross-functional team
- Develop essential questions (EQs) that are open-ended, meaningful, and feasible
- Craft a focused use case that explains the context of the essential question, the data needed to answer it, and the actions or decisions that will result
- Draft a data visualization mockup designed to enable educators to answer an essential question
